Global public affairs strategy firm Oaktree Solutions today announced the addition of Ariel Palitz to their dynamic and fast-growing team.
Palitz, who earlier this year completed her role as the founding director for the New York City Mayor’s Office of Nightlife, will become Oaktree’s Managing Director of Hospitality and Intergovernmental Affairs. In that role, she will deploy her significant experience to support clients in a range of hospitality and related industries.

Palitz was appointed head of the Office of Nightlife in 2018 by former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and she quickly became known as the city’s first “nightlife mayor.” She continued to serve under Mayors Adams until 2023. In that role, she used her experience as a former nightclub owner and community board member to create the infrastructure for a new government office, identify systemic challenges and develop non-enforcement solutions. Importantly, she also successfully navigated the hospitality industry through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Palitz is globally recognized as a pioneer and ambassador of the nighttime governance movement and for creating internationally adopted common-sense solutions addressing enforcement, safety, harm reduction, quality of life, community-government relations, licensing and permitting, equity and crisis management.

Ariel Palitz is also independently working as the Nightlife Advisor for the NYC Hospitality Alliance to continue her work supporting and galvanizing the industry.
